성 안니발레 마리아 디 프란챠(Saint Annibale Maria di Francia)는 1851년 7월 5일 이탈리아 시칠리아에서 태어났다.

Saint Annibale Maria di Francia was born on July 5, 1851 in Sicily, Italy. 

 

1878년 사제 서품을 받은 후부터 그리스도의 사제로서, 고아들과 가난한 이들의 아버지로서의 삶이 시작되었다.

After being ordained as a priest in 1878, his life as a priest of Christ and a father to orphans and the poor began. 

 

그는 성체 안에 현존하시는 예수 성심에 대한 뜨거운 사랑으로 힘없고 어려움에 처한 이들에게 ‘하느님과 이웃’이라는 이상을 실현시키며 헌신적으로 복음을 전파하였다.

With his passionate love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus present in the Eucharist, he devotedly spread the gospel to those who were powerless and in difficulties, realizing the ideal of ‘God and neighbors’. 

 

특히 목자 없는 양과 같이 버려진 사람들을 바라보며, 그들을 위해서 일할 일꾼들을 교회에 보내달라고 하느님께 청하는 기도의 확산을 위해 많은 노력을 했다.

In particular, he looked at the abandoned people like sheep without a shepherd and made a lot of effort to spread the prayer of asking God to send workers to the church to work for them. 

 

그는 그리스도의 이 말씀을 실현하기 위해 ‘거룩한 열정의 딸 수도회(Daughters of Divine Zeal)’와 ‘예수 성심의 로가찌오니스티 수도회(Congregation of the Rogationist Fathers of the Heart of Jesus)’를 설립하였다.

To realize these words of Christ, he founded the ‘Daughters of Divine Zeal’ and the ‘Congregation of the Rogationist Fathers of the Heart of Jesus.’ 

 

고아들과 가난한 이들의 아버지였던 그는 1927년 6월 1일 선종하였다.

The father of orphans and the poor, he died on June 1, 1927.
