전해지는 이야기에 따르면 성녀 아나톨리아(Saints Anatolia)는 그리스도교 신자로서 동정을 지키기 위하여 아우렐리우스(Aurelius)라는 청년의 청혼을 거절하였다.

그러나 동정에 대한 성녀 아타톨리아(Saints Anatolia)의 신앙에 감동한 성녀 빅토리아(Saints Victoria)마저 자신의 약혼자인 에우게니우스(Eugenius)와 파혼하였다.

이에 앙심을 품은 두 청혼자들은 두 자매를 감금하고 자신들에게 복종할 때까지 굶겼지만 끝내 두 자매가 뜻을 굽히지 않자 그들을 신자라고 고발하여 결국 참수형을 받고 순교하였다.
