성녀 안나(Saint Anna the Prophetess)는 프누엘(Phanuel)의 딸이자 예언자였다.
Saint Anna the Prophetess was the daughter of Phanuel and a prophetess.
그녀는 혼인하여 남편과 일곱 해를 살고서는 여든네 살이 되도록 과부로 지내며 성전을 떠나는 일 없이 단식하고 기도하며 밤낮으로 하느님을 섬겼다.
She married and lived with her husband for seven years, and then remained a widow until she was eighty-four years old. She never left the temple, fasting and praying and serving God day and night.
첫아들을 주님께 바쳐야 한다는 모세의 율법에 따라 아기 예수님을 성전에 봉헌할 때 그 자리에 있던 그녀는 평범한 아기 예수가 구세주이심을 즉시 알아보고 감격했다.
When baby Jesus was offered in the temple according to the law of Moses that the firstborn son must be sacrificed to the Lord, she was present and was thrilled to immediately recognize that the ordinary baby Jesus was the savior.
그녀는 하느님께 감사드리며 예루살렘의 속량을 기다리는 모든 이에게 예수님에 관한 이야기를 전했다.
She thanked God and told the story of Jesus to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem.
그녀는 신약성경에 등장하는 많은 여성 가운데 예언자로 지목되는 유일한 여성으로 초대교회 안에서 존경받는 여인의 모범이었다.
Among the many women who appear in the New Testament, she was the only woman designated as a prophet and was a respected example of a woman in the early church.
