성녀 클라우디나 테브네(Saint Claudine Thévenet)는 1774년 3월 30일 프랑스에서 태어났다.

Saint Claudine Thévenet was born in France on March 30, 1774. 

 

그녀는 신심 깊은 가정에서 성장하였으나 프랑스 대혁명의 와중에 자신의 두 오빠가 정부 관리들에게 체포되어 순교하는 아픔을 겪었다.

She grew up in a religious family, but suffered the pain of her two older brothers being arrested by government officials and martyred during the French Revolution. 

 

하지만 그녀의 가족들은 살인자들을 용서하였다. 오빠들의 순교 후 노동일을 하며 현장에서 일하는 젊은 여성들에게 관심을 갖게 된 그녀는 1816년 하나의 신심단체를 만들었다. 

But her family forgave her murderers. After the martyrdom of her brothers, she became interested in young women working in the fields and established a religious organization in 1816. 

 

그리고 2년 뒤인 1818년 이 단체를 모태로 하여 예수와 마리아의 자매 수녀회(Congregation of the Religious of Jesus and Mary)를 설립하였다.

And two years later, in 1818, Congregation of the Religious of Jesus and Mary was established based on this organization. 

 

이 수녀회는 가난한 젊은 여성들을 돕고 교육하는데 헌신하는 교육 수녀회였다. 젊은 여성들을 위한 기숙사와 학교를 운영하며 수녀회의 발전을 이끈 그녀는 1837년 2월 3일 리옹에서 선종하였다.

This convent was a convent of educational nuns dedicated to helping and educating poor young women. She led the development of the convent by running a dormitory and school for young women and died in Lyon on February 3, 1837.
