성녀 루치아 필립피니(Saint Lucy Filippini)는 이탈리아에서 태어났으나 어린 나이에 고아원에서 성장하였다.

Saint Lucy Filippini was born in Italy but grew up in an orphanage at a young age. 

 

그러나 그녀는 놀라운 신심과 뛰어난 은혜를 많이 받고 성장하였으므로 추기경의 주목을 받고 몬테피아스코네(Montefiascone)로 초청받았다.

However, because she grew up with amazing piety and great grace, she was noticed by the cardinal and invited to Montefiascone. 

 

이곳은 수도자의 지도하에 훈련 교사들을 위한 교육이 이루어지는 곳이었다. 그녀는 열과 성의를 다하여 일하던 중에 이와 비슷한 기관을 성공적으로 운영하던 성녀 로사 베네리니(Saint Rose Venerini)를 만났다.

This was a place where training for training teachers was conducted under the guidance of monks. While working with all her passion and sincerity, she met Saint Rose Venerini, who successfully ran a similar institution. 

 

그녀는 단정함, 용기 그리고 풍부한 상식 등이 크게 돋보였고 또 많은 사람들의 마음을 사로잡았다.

Her neatness, courage, and abundant common sense greatly stood out and captured the hearts of many people. 

 

교황 클레멘스 11세(Clemens XI)의 강력한 희망에 따라 새로운 교육 센터를 세워야 할 입장이어서 그녀는 로마(Roma)로 갔다.

She went to Rome to establish a new educational center in accordance with the strong wishes of Pope Clement XI. 

 

그곳에서 그녀는 ‘거룩한 교사’로 알려졌고 놀라운 설교 능력을 갖게 되었다. 그녀는 신심 깊은 교사회(Instituti Magistrarum Piarum)를 설립했다.

There she became known as the ‘Holy Teacher’ and developed amazing preaching skills. She founded the Instituti Magistrarum Piarum (Institut of Pious Teachers). 

 

그러나 그녀는 불행하게도 건강을 유지하지 못하여 병을 앓다가 선종하였다.

However, unfortunately, she could not maintain her health and died after suffering from an illness.
