성녀 아니시아는 현재 테살로니키 지역의 부유하고 경건한 성가정에서 태어났다.
Saint Anysia was born to a wealthy and pious Christian family in what is now Thessaloniki.
그녀는 순결과 청빈의 서원을 하였고 기도하며 가난한 사람들을 도왔다.
She took vows of chastity and poverty, prayed, and helped the poor.
총독이 테살로니카에서 잔인한 박해를 계속할 때 연일 수많은 그리스도인들이 모여들어 집회를 계속하였다.
As the governor continued the cruel persecution in Thessalonica, numerous Christians gathered day after day and continued to hold meetings.
성녀 아니시아(Saint Anysia)가 신자들의 모임에 참석하기 위하여 가고 있을 때 파수꾼 한 명이 그녀를 멈추게 하였다.
Saint Anysia was on her way to attend a gathering of believers when a watchman stopped her.
그는 어디 가는 길이냐고 묻자 위험을 느낀 성녀 아니시아(Saint Anysia)는 엉겁결에 십자성호를 그으면서 뒷걸음질을 쳤다.
When he asked where he was going, Saint Anysia, sensing danger, made the sign of the cross and backed away.
이에 군인 한 명이 나타나서 너는 누구이며 어디로 가느냐고 다그쳤다. 그러자 그녀는 아주 태연하게 저는 예수 그리스도의 신자이므로 주님의 모임에 가고 있다고 말했다.
Then a soldier appeared and demanded, “Who are you and where are you going?” Then she very calmly said that she was a believer in Jesus Christ and was going to the Lord's meeting.
군인은 그녀에게 못간다 그 대신 너는 신전에 희생을 바치라고 강요하였다. 성녀 아니시아(Saint Anysia)가 거부하자 군인은 그녀의 베일을 벗겨 버렸다.
The soldier could not go to her, but instead you forced her to make a sacrifice at the temple. When Saint Anysia refused, the soldier removed her veil.
그리고 그 군인은 그녀를 칼로 난자하며 성문에서 죽였다. 이후 교우들은 그녀가 순교한 자리에 기도소를 세우고 용감한 그녀의 신앙을 기렸다고 한다.
And the soldier killed her at the gate, cutting her open with his sword. Afterwards, the church members built a prayer center at the site of her martyrdom and commemorated her courageous faith.
