복녀 크리스티나(Blessed Mattia Ciccarelli)는 이탈리아의 유명한 치카렐리(Ciccarelli) 가문의 딸로 태어나 성장하였으며 마티아(Matthia)라는 이름으로 세례를 받았다.

Blessed Christina (Blessed Mattia Ciccarelli) was born and raised as the daughter of the famous Ciccarelli family in Italy and was baptized with the name Matthia. 

 

어린 나이로 라퀼라의 성 아우구스티누스회(Order of Saint Augustine)에 입회한 후에 크리스티나 (Christina)라는 수도명을 받았다.

At a young age, she entered the Order of Saint Augustine in L'Aquila and received the religious name Christina.  

 

수도원에서 그녀는 덕행의 모범으로 인정을 받고 살았으며 특히 겸손하고 가난한 이들에 대한 사랑의 덕이 돋보였다.

At the monastery, she lived and was recognized as an example of virtue, and was especially notable for her humility and love for the poor. 

 

그녀는 아주 오랜 시간을 기도하였으며, 자주 탈혼(ecstasy) 상태에 빠졌고, 미래의 일을 예견하는 능력으로 유명하였다.

She prayed for very long periods of time, frequently went into a state of ecstasy, and was famous for her ability to foresee future events. 

 

또한 그녀는 매우 엄격한 보속 생활을 하였고, 살아있는 동안에도 수많은 기적이 일어나서 살아있는 성인(Saint)으로 공경을 받았다. 

In addition, she lived a very strict life of penance, and many miracles occurred while she was alive, so she was revered as a living saint. 

 

그녀는 1543년 1월 18일에 선종하였는데 라퀼라(L'Aquila)의 어린이들이 그녀의 죽음을 온 도시에 전하러 다녔고 사람들이 구름처럼 몰려왔다고 한다.

She died on January 18, 1543, and the children of L'Aquila went to announce her death throughout the city, and it is said that people flocked to her like a cloud.
